Webster Vienna Student Receives Wall Street Journal Award
Webster Vienna MBA student Ines Riess became the first student from Webster's European campuses to receive the Wall Street Journal Student Award. The award recognizes Riess, who maintains a 4.0 GPA, for her academic achievement, leadership potential and entrepreneurial spirit. Riess, who also completed her bachelor's degree at Webster Vienna, began her career as a quality manager with the Croatian subsidiary of Swiss-based Vetropack Group. She later became a general manager of ASP. Consulting's subsidiary in Zagreb and has continued her career as a business development manager with Vienna-based ASP. Consulting Group. Instructors from Webster Vienna nominated her for the award, seeing that Riess represents the ideal Webster student. "Ines really stands out from the hundreds of students I've taught," says Chris Newman, Webster Vienna department head, Business and Management. "She is an excellent student and has contributed extensively to every class she has taken with me." In recognizing Riess' achievement, the office of Dean Benjamin Akande gave her a one-year subscription to the European edition of the Wall Street Journal. The Educational Service Bureau of Dow Jones developed the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award program in 1948. |
