Webster Students Take Flight with Boeing Scholarship

Webster University and excellence in education are part of Boeing's flight plan this year. Executives at the aerospace giant are used to seeing top graduates leave classes to make a name for themselves in the business world. So to help the next group of students soar, the company has set up a scholarship. Boeing leaders, including Webster alum Matt Daniels, MA 2005, presented the scholarship contribution to Dean Benjamin Akande in November.

Daniels, who helped steward the scholarship for his alma mater, knows the importance of a degree from Webster University. With a master's in human resource management, he now works for Boeing in University Relations - Integrated Defense Systems. This return trip to campus was not a dash to class but to help those following in his footsteps.

"I've seen what Webster can do. It makes me proud to work for a company that recognizes the strength of a Webster education," says Matt Daniels.

Daniels is not the only Webster alum making a difference at Boeing. Software engineering manager Tanya Noble and V.P. of Supply Management Norma Clayton also earned their degrees through Webster's School of Business and Technology.

The Boeing Scholarships for Minority or Female Business Students will be awarded to four currently enrolled coeds. Students eligible for the Boeing Scholarships must be sophomores or juniors who are maintaining a competitive grade point average and who are strongly recommended by a faculty member.
