Corrigan was an investigative reporter for the late Jack Anderson in Washington, D.C., and his work for Anderson, while on academic leave from Webster, appeared in more that 1,000 daily U.S. newspapers.

About
Corrigan is editor in chief and co-publisher of the Webster-Kirkwood Times and South County Times newspapers in suburban St. Louis. He also is a contributing writer for the St. Louis Journalism Review.

Corrigan is the author of "The Public Journalism Movement in America," a book that criticizes what Corrigan calls the trend away from objectivity in reporting and toward "solution-oriented journalism." He also wrote "Favorite Columns from a Hometown Newspaper," and contributed a chapter to "Journalism: Stories from the Real World." Corrigan's latest book is a volume on Missouri nature sites entitled, "Show Me ... Natural Wonders," published by Reedy Press in 2007. Corrigan is at work on several more titles for Reedy.

Corrigan has lectured extensively and has won more than two dozen writing and editing awards, including three Huck Boyd Awards for Community Journalism, the 2001 Distinguished Newspaper Adviser Award for Four-Year Institutions from College Media Advisers and the 1995 Investigative Reporters and Editors Award. He received a Missouri Press Women Quest Award in 2006 in recognition of his teaching/mentoring work encouraging women in journalism.

He received a grant from the Gannett Foundation in 1988 to report on the clean-up of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant accident and a grant from the Messing Foundation in 1990 to study journalism in the former Soviet Union.
