Dear Alumni,

It’s hard to imagine, but it’s been two years since we started building a program to better connect our scores of successful alumni.

In those two years, we managed to host happy hours, bring speakers to campus and launch this newsletter. We just never slowed down enough to give the program a formal name … until now.

So let me be the first to officially welcome you to “SOC Beyond: Connecting Alumni Worldwide.”



“SOC Beyond” is a program designed to connect you, your fellow SOC alumni and all the resources the School of Communications provides. Best of all, it doesn’t cost you a dime.

We plan to continue growing the program by bringing more guest speakers to campus, keeping you up to date with each other’s success, informing you of what’s happening around campus and hosting more special events — all with you in mind.



Recently, “SOC Beyond” hosted an event at the Regional Arts Commission. The event displayed the great work of Professor Susan Stang and Italian photographer Francesco Arese Visconti.
