Faculty News Adjunct Professor Gina Jensen is coordinating plans for the 2005 Pi Kappa Delta National Forensics Tournament to be hosted at Webster University in March 2005. The event will attract more than 600 forensics students from colleges and universities across the nation. Associate Professor Scott Jensen is serving as tournament director. Associate Professor Barry Hufker, Electronic and Photographic Media, recorded the St. Louis Chamber Chorus' "St. John of the Cross" at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis and the final concert of the Chorus' 2003-2004 season at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. The program, entitled "Robert Burns," featured Burns' poetry set to music by various composers, including Ralph Vaughn Williams, Michael Tippett and Cedric Thorpe Davie. Hufker also recorded John McClellan , adjunct professor, Music, performing "Muskrat Ramble," for "Fingerstyle Guitar" magazine, which will appear on a tribute CD McClellan is assembling for release later in 2004; "Judy!," the new production of the Gateway Men's Chorus; and classical guitar prodigy Alyssa Sanatoya and McClellan for an upcoming CD published by "Fingerstyle Guitar" magazine. Associate Professor Scott Jensen was named the 2004 recipient of the Loren Reid Service Award by STAM (Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri). STAM serves Communication and Theatre educators throughout the state of Missouri. Jensen was also re-elected for a second three-year term as STAM Executive-Secretary. |
