Theatres and Facilities

The Conservatory has three performance spaces, the Browning Theatre (above l.), the Emerson Studio (below) and Stage Three (above r.). The Browning Theatre seats 952 and was inspired in part by the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. Webster shares this theatre and the Emerson Studio with the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis throughout the year. Webster's flexible black-box space, the Emerson Studio Theatre, allows the student designer to not only create a scenic world, but to decide on the relationship of the play to the audience. Stage Three is Webster’s small proscenium theatre.
