Kelsey studied four years of Strategic Communications at the University of Missouri School of Journalism where she led the environmental justice student organization, Mizzou Energy Action Coalition, and co-founded the university’s fossil fuel divestment campaign, Reinvest Mizzou. She joined Webster University in fall of 2015 as the Sustainability Planner where she has spearheaded the revitalization of the campus Sustainability Coalition, created the school’s first Sustainability Peer Educator program, launched a summer Lunch & Learn series, and was the key creator of the Webster University Sustainability Conference this fall. She is also teaching a freshman seminar course this fall term on the social inequality and environmental justice.

Previously, Kelsey has held leadership positions and organized with the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, the Missouri Chapter of the Sierra Club and the Missouri Coalition for Climate Justice. She was the Sustainability Coordinator for the 2015 True/False Film Festival. She formerly interned for the sustainability consulting firm out of Washington, D.C., Eco-Coach, as well as the Missouri Environmental Assistance Center. She has led educational workshops for the Sierra Student Coalition’s summer leadership program, SPROG, on topics such as messaging, framing, anti-oppression, entering a community, creating a narrative, and others.
