Doctor of Education (EdD)
EdD in Transformative Learning in the Global Community
Educators have realized their responsibilities and influences reach well beyond their schools and local issues and into the global community. As a transformative experience, this doctorate helps education professionals increase their expertise and build the capacity to effectively become community leaders through scholarship.
Webster University’s Doctor of Education (EdD) in Transformative Learning in the Global Community is designed to create scholars and leaders who are equipped to train the global workforce of tomorrow. Expanding their own concepts of learning and teaching, graduate students pursuing the EdD study the philosophies, histories and theoretical frameworks of education systems while producing research in their content areas.
Webster students develop a more globally and socially conscious perspective of their scholarship and leadership during their studies. In this two-year program, EdD students have the opportunity to participate in global service learning internships, interdisciplinary courses and dissertation research. Admission to the EdD is competitive with about 15 available seats each year.
