Teacher Leadership

Learning to collaborate with families and the community, teachers are becoming influential leaders who are able to adapt and improve school culture as the educational system becomes more diverse.

Being a leader as a teacher promotes a higher level of learning and problem solving to students at all levels at all schools. Teacher leaders are innovative champions of student learning and help to drive policy decisions. A true leader never stops learning and teacher leaders have the ability to think beyond the walls of their classroom and find solutions.

In the Educational Specialist (EdS) Graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership program, education professionals have the opportunity to study school social dynamics and manage projects in curriculum design and classroom instruction. Webster students also learn how to engage parents and community members in the learning process. While this graduate certificate is not a teacher certification or licensure program, graduate students who earn this EdS certificate are better prepared to effectively lead school districts to better outcomes and equitable learning environments.
