Bob Smith U.S.A. (Neil Abramson, 2005, USA, 90 min.)
There are approximately 81,000 Robert Smiths residing in the United States. This is a film about seven--all of whom go by Bob. On the surface it seems that the only thing they have in common is their moniker, but look deeper and two themes recur: religion and patriotism, which seem to go hand-in-hand these days. And while very entertaining and humorous, this film also serves as an anthropological study of the state of the union and acts as a mirror for the country as a whole.

Director Abramson will be present at Friday & Saturday’s screenings for Q & A.

#05-06-21
Being Caribou (Leanne Allison and Diana Wilson, 2005, USA/CA, 72 min.)
Filmmaker Leanne Allison and wildlife biologist Karsten Heuer (with a 15-inch George Bush replica doll) made an epic 1000-mile (1500 km), 5-month journey on foot with the 120,000-member Porcupine Caribou Herd from Old Crow, Yukon, Canada, to the caribou calving grounds in Alaska, and back documenting nature’s beauty along the way.
