Artistic/Technical Personnel
Projectionist, Richard Bauer holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Washington University and has been the chief projectionist for the Webster Film Series since its inception over 25 years ago. He has also donated his time and expertise to Ragtag Cinema in Columbia, MO, the Saint Louis International Film Festival, and the Jewish Film Festival, among others. Because of our changeover 35mm projection system and Dick Bauer’s expertise, we are one of only a few venues in the country entrusted with rare archival and irreplaceable film prints.
Administrative Personnel
Program Director, Mike Steinberg has over 10 years experience in film and electronic media. He studied English & Film at Webster University where he earned an MA in Film Production. He has worked with the St. Louis International Film Festival, Jewish Film Festival, and the International Wild Life Film Festival. Steinberg’s own films have earned placement in national film festivals, including Silverdocs, the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Bare Bone Independent Film Festival, Hardacre, and the Texas Film Festival. Additionally, his work has been screened at Midtown Arts Center, Chicago’s Navy Pier, Washington University, and The Slumdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. He has taught and lectured at Webster University, the University of Montana, St. Louis Community College, the Center of Contemporary Arts and at the College of Languages in Lodz, Poland.
Program Coordinator, James Harrison and is an award-winning filmmaker who is active in the St. Louis Film Community, shooting and editing documentary films on a regular basis. Harrison brings to the Film Series a professional background in production, an extensive knowledge of the technology of film, and an enthusiasm and love for the medium. He has worked in the art, production, and camera departments of major motion pictures as well as independent narrative and documentary films. His own films have appeared on PBS and The Discovery Channel. Harrison has a keen eye for detail, and exceptional organizational skills.
