Friday Studio Art
The Friday Open Studio policy is one of the central components to DADAH’s approach to teaching art making. DADAH students enrolled in Art courses work independently on their assignments and projects in the VAS studios on Fridays, rather than in the formal classroom setting. The often individualized practice of making art necessitates the internalization of independent motivation and habits to make progress. The Friday Open Studio allows students to explore and develop their own sense of independence and work habits as best suits their individual personalities. With that in mind, the studios are also open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to continue to foster independent practice.
A figure model is often provided on Friday afternoons from which student can draw.
Students are required to be working in the VAS studios on Fridays.
