Theatres
The Conservatory has three performance spaces, the Browning Theatre (above l.), the
Emerson Studio (below) and Stage Three (above r.). The Browning Theatre seats 952
and was inspired in part by the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. Emerson Studio Theatre
is Webster's flexible black-box space seating 125.Webster shares this theatre and
the Emerson Studio with the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis throughout the year. Stage
Three is Webster's small proscenium theatre and seats about 125
.
Classrooms
The Conservatory has classrooms in the Loretto-Hilton Center as well as in Webster
University's Old Orchard facility. In the Loretto-Hilton center there are two scene
shops, a paint annex, costume shop, and props shop. Design studios (pictured below)
are also in the LHC.
Dance classes take place in the two dance studios in LHC and acting and directing
classes are held in the Old Orchard spaces or in Stage Three.
