The Webster University Department of Music is delighted to announce the addition of Mr. Trent Patterson as Director of Choral Studies and Music Education, effective August 2010.  Mr. Patterson replaces Dr. Kathryn Smith Bowers, who retires at the end of this school year.

Mr. Patterson is currently ABD at Michigan State University.  He previously led successful middle school and high school programs in Iowa and Florida, including the much-lauded program at Winter Park High School outside of Orlando.  His undergraduate degree in music education is from Florida State University; his Master of Music, from San Jose State University.  He is an accomplished singer, pianist and vocal coach with experience in musical theatre and opera chorus work in addition to choral studies.

Dr. Bowers' final concert with the Webster University choral ensembles is Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m. in the Community Music School concert hall.  The concert features Bach (both Johann Sebastian and P.D.Q.!).   We do hope for a full house of colleagues, students, and friends that evening.
