         Program: U.S. Army Signal Center Information

This advising paper describes the Cooperative Masters Degree Program between the United States Army Signal Center Information Systems Management Course (ISM) and Webster University. This cooperative program provides an opportunity for qualified ISM resident students and graduates to complete the following Webster University masters degree:

 

 Master of Arts in Information Technology Management (ITM)

 

ISM students participating in this program are eligible to receive 15 semester hours of graduate transfer credit toward the Information Technology Management masters degree program from Webster University, and can attend classes at Webster in-residence or online. 

  

Program Development

The Signal Information Systems Management Course and Webster University Cooperative Masters Degree Program was developed in accordance with the American Council on Education's Joint Statement on the Transfer and Award of Credit, which contains guidelines approved by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

Webster University Graduate Credit Awarded

Transfer credit is awarded to ISM students or graduates who completed the ISM resident course.  ISM graduates must submit an official copy of the Academic Evaluation Report (DD Form 1059) to Webster University that reflects “Achieved Course Standards” or “Exceeded Course Standards” in the Performance Summary block in order to receive credit. Qualified students enrolled in the ISM/Webster Cooperative Master Degree Program are awarded 15 semester hours of graduate credit toward the Webster University Master of Arts in Information Technology Management degree program as shown in chart below.

           

Master of Arts in Information Technology Management (ITM)

The Master of Arts in Information Technology Management degree requires satisfactory completion of 27 credit hours of the ITM curriculum and 9 credit hours of graduate electives for a total of 36 credit hours.  The student chooses elective courses from the ITM program curricula or from other Webster University School of Business and Technology graduate majors.

 

Qualified ISM graduates enrolled in the MA in Information Technology Management are awarded 15 semester hours of transfer credit, which is applied as 12 semester hours of required ITM core courses and a 3 semester hour elective course (Operating Systems and Enterprise Architectures).  Satisfactory completion of the ITM program requires the following Webster University courses:

 Admission to ISM Cooperative Masters Degree Program

Requirements for admission to the ISM Cooperative Masters Degree Program are as follows:

¨      This agreement between the U. S. Army Signal Center and Webster University applies to all officers completing the ISM. All participants in the program must submit an Academic Evaluation Report (DA Form 1059) that reflects completion of ISM curriculum.

¨      Completion of a bachelors degree from a regionally-accredited college or university, and submission of an official transcript reflecting conferral of degree.

¨      Completion and submission of the Webster University graduate school application form with nonrefundable application fee.

¨      Participants in this program are not required to complete separate graduate entrance examinations such as Graduate Record Exam (GRE), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), or Miller’s Analogy Test (MAT).  Letters of recommendation will not be required.

¨      All students should consult the academic policies and procedures section of the current Webster University Graduate Studies Catalog concerning admission, enrollment and academic policies.
