This course will help you make the most of your student career at Webster University. You will get an introduction to those aspects of university life that have a significant impact on a student’s success at Webster. This will include learning how to use the many resources Webster provides to support you in meeting both academic and social challenges. Using various assessments and exercises, you will develop a deeper understanding of yourself and use that understanding to learn adaptation strategies, such as goal setting, values clarification, time management, money management, and stress management. These are skills that will work for you both inside and outside of the classroom.
The goals of this course are to help first-year students:
- adjust to the University
- develop a better understanding of themselves as college students
- obtain self-management skills critical to surviving and thriving as a college student
