Tuition and Fees

The program cost for 2012-13 will be announced after the first of the year. The program fee for the 2011-12 Global MA in International Relations program is $41,700, which includes 36 hours of graduate tuition, housing during each eight-week academic term, pre-departure materials, and all textbooks. In addition to the program fee, students are responsible for airfare, their own meals, housing between academic terms, personal living expenses, visas, and any costs associated with travel between Webster's campuses. For more information on cost, visit our FAQs page.

Financial Aid

U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are full-time graduate students are eligible for up to $20,500 per academic year in Federal Direct loans. For most students in this program, Graduate Plus loans supplement the Federal Direct loan program. Additionally, Webster University offers need-based grants to qualified students. The grant application process is posted in February.

Housing

Students will live in a variety of on-campus and off-campus apartments, student residences, and hotels, at each of the four European locations. The level of accommodations will vary from campus to campus, but all housing will be located within walking distance or with access to public transportation routes, for travel to and from each campus. Accommodations will be arranged by Webster staff on-site at each location. Note: Students will be responsible for arranging their own housing accommodations between academic terms.

Passports and Visas

As a recognized leader in study abroad education, Webster University understands the varying regulations related to travel within our international network of campuses.

With that in mind, all U.S. citizens must obtain a valid passport to participate in the program. U.S. citizens must apply through the U.S. State Department on their Web site at http://www.travel.state.gov. Students are solely responsible for procuring a valid passport.

Students will also be responsible for obtaining a visa, if required. You are encouraged to visit each country's Washington-based embassy Web site to become informed of the visa regulations of your destination countries prior to departure in the event of regulation changes or extended stays abroad.

For more information about passport and visa requirements, please contact Study Abroad at 1-800-984-6857 or worldview@webster.edu.

International Student ID Card

Webster University provides each student with a free personal International Student Identification Card (ISIC), which will serve as your worldwide student ID. The ISIC also allows you to book discounted student airfare; receive discounts around the world for museums, exhibits, etc.; and access a 24-hour toll-free help-line.

Health Insurance

At no additional cost, Webster University provides basic accident and sickness insurance to program participants. The policy covers students throughout the world arranged through HTH Worldwide Health Services. Students should not cancel their existing policies in lieu of this coverage. For more information, visit http://www.hthstudents.com.

Student Safety

Webster University is committed to the safety and security of all its students. Student residences are all staffed with residential assistants. All students have 24-hour local contact information in case of an emergency. Additionally, all campuses remain in close contact with the local U.S. embassies for the latest local and international advisories. Webster also monitors U.S. State Department travel advisories on an ongoing basis.
