Standards Effective Spring 1, 2004 Term
1. Students must have a 2.5 GPA. Students who do
not have a 2.5 GPA will be admitted on a provisional basis and can take
only one course per term for the first four terms. The grades for
each course must be a "B" or better to remain in good
standing.
2. MBA students must meet the required
prerequisites: BUSN 5000, Business which is equivalent to general
business courses in economics, finance, accounting, business law,
marketing, and other business concepts. BUSN 5600, Accounting
Theory and Practice is equivalent to two accounting courses equal to
undergraduate Accounting I and II. BUSN 5620, Current Economic
Analysis is equivalent to microeconomics and macroeconomics. These
courses must have been completed in the last 5 years with a grade of
"B" or better.
3. Counseling students must also have as a minimum
courses in basic psychology, human growth and development, and abnormal
psychology with a grade of "C" or better.
Applicants considered for admission to Webster University's
graduate programs must have earned a recognized baccalaureate degree from an
educational institution accredited by one of the six regional accrediting
agencies in the United States. Students who completed their university education
abroad must have earned an equivalent recognized baccalaureate degree as
determined by Webster University. Each applicant must submit an official final
transcript from the degree-granting institution in order to complete the
application file. The admission decision will be made after the required
transcripts are on file with the appropriate office at the University.
Applicants for a sequential master of arts (M.A.) or sequential master of
business administration (M.B.A.) must submit both undergraduate and graduate
transcripts at the time of application if their degree was issued from an
institution other than Webster University. Issued-to-student copies are not
acceptable.

Application by U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents (Resident Alien Card
holders)
- Application forms are available by mail, Internet, or during the
initial advising session with an academic advisor. The advising session
serves as both an information opportunity as well as a mandatory admission
requirement.
- The application fee for the degree-seeking student must be
submitted with the completed applicat
ion form or the application form will
not be processed. If the application fee is included with a tuition payment,
this should be noted on the application form. The purpose of the application
fee is to initiate the student's admission file, complete the admission
file, and establish it as an official student file in the Office of the
Registrar.
- A student who registers for a course as a non-degree student must
complete a non-degree application form and pay the application fee. The
student should consult the Non-degree Students section under Enrollment for
additional information. It should be noted that non-degree students are
usually not eligible for veterans' educational benefits or financial aid.
- Graduates of Webster College/University are exempt from the
application fee.
- The student who is a Permanent Resident of the United States and
holds a Resident Alien Card must submit a copy of both sides of the card
with the completed application form. Webster University reserves the right
to require students whose native language is not English to complete the
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam (or other English
language proficiency examination) based on the assessment of the local
director and/or academic advisor.
