Connections provides a number of features designed to help you interact more effectively with Webster University or with colleagues at Webster University, including:
- E-mail. Connections provides a Web-based e-mail application that you can use to send and receive messages and maintain an address book of online contacts. To access your e-mail account, click the e-mail icon that appears in the application toolbar.
- Calendar. Connections provides a Web-based calendar application that you can use to create and manage personal calendars, access course calendars to view information added by course instructors, and access calendars for any online groups that you have joined. To access the calendar, click the calendar icon that appears in the application toolbar.
- Groups Studio. Connections provides an application that allows individuals at Webster University to request the creation of online groups and maintain homepages for these groups containing resources like photo albums, Internet links, news articles, and applications like message boards, chat rooms, and calendars. Similar homepages are supported for courses taught at Webster University. To access the Groups application, click the groups icon that appears in the application toolbar. To access a course homepage, access a channel that contains the My Courses channel information, access the My Courses channel, and then click on a course name.
- Message boards. Connections provides a message board for each class in which you are enrolled or that you are assigned to teach. Depending on the privileges allocated to a group, message boards may also be available to groups for which you are a member. To access course message boards, use the My Courses channel. To access group message boards, open the Groups application and access a group for which you are a member.
- Chat. Connections provides a chat room for each class in which you are enrolled or that you are assigned to teach. Depending on the privileges allocated to a group, chat rooms may also be available to groups for which you are a member. To access course message boards, use the My Courses channel. To access group chat room, open the Groups application and access a group for which you are a member.
- Eden-Webster Library System. Located at the top of the page is a link to the Eden-Webster Library System, Passports. Passports is a cooperative program of Eden Theological Seminary and Webster University. Passports supports the teaching, research, and intellectual pursuits of both institutions by providing access to an extensive range of services and resources worldwide. The combined collections include over 280,000 volumes and 1,500 current journal subscriptions. The materials in the Luhr Library are focused on religion, theology, mission, and biblical studies, while the collections at the Emerson Library support the varied programs of Webster University. Patrons who are eligible for library cards have the same privileges at both of the libraries.
