Join the Most Informed Audience on Election Night - The Holden Public Policy Forum @ Webster University

Former Missouri Governor Bob Holden is hosting a bi-partisan election night party at Webster University on November 7, which will bring prominent political figures in contact with students and members of the St. Louis community to discuss election topics and results. Confirmed guests include State Attorney General Jay Nixon and Congressman Russ Carnahan, in addition to some of Gov. Holden's former staff members, who will give us their insight and interpretation of what this election means for Missourians and share their own election experiences. The event is from 6 to 11pm in the University Center's Sunnen Lounge, 175 Edgar Rd., Webster Groves.

The event, which is a major student project produced by undergraduate public relations majors from the School of Communications, is sponsored by the Holden Public Policy Forum @ Webster University and will be completely interactive. The audience will not only be there to view the results as they come in, but are invited to ask questions to the speakers and participate in politically themed games and activities.

This is a great opportunity to not only get student reaction of election results, but also talk with top political and media experts, including Webster professor of History, Politics and International Relations, Dan Hellinger, and former mayor of Crestwood and Webster professor of Management, Jim Brassfield about election coverage and the role of the media during these times.

There will be numerous photo opportunities of students participating in games such as pin the tie on the donkey and political trivia. The election results will be tracked with a large map displaying states as they turn red or blue and televisions tuned in to local news stations. In addition, Gov. Holden and the featured speakers will be mingling and talking with students throughout the evening.
