Requirements:  Must have good character and reputation.  H.S. Graduate or Equivalent; at least 21 years of age; good work record; valid driver’s license; ability to use independent judgment in emergencies; strong writing skills; and the ability to work effectively with a diverse public.  Bi-lingual, Criminal Justice Degree and 600 hours POST Certification desirable.

Pay: An annual starting base salary of $35,794, with current top pay for patrol officers at $50,488.  A 5% lateral pay adjustment is available for experienced officers, bringing the starting base salary to $37,583.

JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to perform prisoner booking and maintenance, in house report duties, dispatch relief, and security tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor personnel in holdover area to ensure prisoner well being
  • Schedules showers and meals for prisoners
  • Book prisoners, inventories prisoner’s belonging, fingerprints and photographers prisoners
  • Completes booking sheets
  • Reviews warrant list for wanted individuals
  • Compiles prisoner list
  • May act as dispatcher as required
  • Takes care of prisoner laundry
  • Act as desk officer when required
  • Receives and processes bonding procedures
  • Provide inmates with respect and professionalism while in custody
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
