Campus housing applications are generally accepted throughout the year; however, given the popularity of living on campus and the variety of living options, the general rule is, "the earlier the application is made, the better."
Freshmen applications for housing need to coincide with application for admission to the University. Current and returning students can re-apply for housing for an upcoming year during the fall semester of the current academic year.

You can print the application or contact the University for more information:
For the Residence Halls, call 314-246-HOME (4663)
For Webster Village Apartments, call 314-246-APTS (2787)
Or send your questions by e-mail to housing@webster.edu

    Important dates to remember:

Jan. 1: Applications for incoming freshmen students available online.

April 1: Applications for incoming freshmen should be received by this date.

April 30: Confirmations sent to freshmen applicants who applied by April 1.

Mid-July: Room assignment and roommate information sent to all residents for the upcoming school year.

Application Information for the 2009-2010 school year:
    • Housing Applications for the 2009-2010 school year are available now.
    • It is important that you return the application form as soon as possible, along with a check or money order for $175, made payable to Webster University. This amount ($175) includes a non-refundable application fee ($25) and a damage deposit ($150).
    • Once we have received your application and check, we will acknowledge receipt with a postcard.
    • Applications received before the priority deadline of April 1 are generally assured a space in campus housing.
    • If we receive your application after April 1, you could be temporarily wait-listed.
    • Your room assignment and roommate information will be sent in mid-July via email. If you are placed in campus housing, cancellation charges will apply if you choose to cancel your housing contract. By signing the housing application, you agree to the terms and conditions of the housing contract.
    • If you have been accepted academically and are waiting for acceptance to a specific program (i.e. Conservatory or Film Production), it is essential to return your housing application as soon as you can. Delay could prevent receiving on-campus housing.

    Returners to On-Campus Housing

We look forward to you returning to our university community. All of the materials that you need to apply to live on campus are available online. Please keep in mind the housing requirement that all freshmen enrolled at the St. Louis main campus are required to live on campus for their first two years at Webster University. Exceptions to this requirement are granted for freshmen and sophomores living with their parents within a 35-mile radius of the main campus in Webster Groves. International transfer and graduate students are also required to live on campus for their first year enrolled in classes at the main campus.

Depending on your housing needs, please select one of the options below:

    Summer 2009:

If you would like to live on campus during Summer 2009, the only housing option available is the Webster Village Apartments. On the Housing Intent Form, there is a line on which you can indicate that you are interested in summer housing. If you check that line, we will contact you via email with summer housing options and rates in the apartments.
You can also email Holland Saltsman, Managing Director of the Webster Village Apartments, at saltsman@webster.edu if you would like summer housing. In your email, indicate the dates that you would like to stay over the summer.

Fall 2009 through Spring 2010 (Room Sign-Up Process):

If you ARE NOT returning to campus housing in 2009-2010:
    • Complete the Housing Intent Form, indicating that you do not intend to live on campus for the 2009-2010 academic year. Please list why you are not returning to campus housing.
    • Submit the Housing Intent Form by 4:30PM on Monday, February 2, 2009, to the Office of Housing and Residential Life. Failure to submit this form by the deadline could result in forfeiture of your $150 security deposit.

If you ARE returning to campus housing in 2009-2010:

    • Complete the Housing Intent Form, indicating that you do want to live on campus for the 2009-2010 academic year.
    • Submit the Housing Intent Form by 4:30PM on Monday, February 2, 2009, to the Office of Housing and Residential Life. Failure to submit the Housing Intent Form by the deadline will result in the loss of your priority if you are returning to campus housing. If you are signing up with a group, all your Intent Forms must be turned in together.
    • The Housing Intent Form is NOT your housing assignment for Fall 2009. You must attend Room Sign-Up during your assigned time slot on February 19, 20, or 21 to get an actual housing assignment.
    • You will receive an email by Thursday, February 12, 2009, informing you of your assigned date and time for Room Sign-Up. Applicants are given a Room Sign-Up appointment time based on the following criteria, in no particular order: students that live outside 35 miles that are required to live on campus; average cumulative GPA at the end of the Fall 2008 semester for the individual or group; and average number of semesters lived on campus as of the end of Fall 2008 for the individual or group.
    • At Room Sign-Up, you must be present for your appointment time. If you cannot make your assigned time, you must complete a Proxy Form in order to get a space in housing. All students signing up in a group MUST be present at the same time or have a Proxy Form signed by any missing student(s). We suggest that your group evaluate each person's assigned date and time and show up together for the earliest possible time slot to give you the best chance of getting your desired space.
    • During Room Sign-Up, you will sign a housing contract for the 2009-2010 academic year. If you have to send in a Proxy Form for your Room Sign-Up appointment, you have one week thereafter to turn in your signed contract before you lose your space.
    • Please be aware that if you wish to cancel that contract after you have signed it, cancellation charges will apply.
    • If you wish to have a special housing accommodation because of a disability, you must email our office at housing@webster.edu prior to February 2, 2009, for consideration.
    • If you are interested in housing for Summer 2009, please check that box on the Housing Intent Form. We will contact you with prices and options.
If you will be STUDYING ABROAD in Spring 2009 and want to live on campus in 09-10:
    • You may turn in your Housing Intent Form before leaving or via email (housing@webster.edu), fax (314-246-4664), or mail (Housing and Residential Life, 240 Edgar Road, St. Louis, MO 63119). It is still due by 4:30pm on Feb. 2.
    • You must also complete a Proxy Form. If you wish to sign up with a group, please have your Intent Form turned in with the group and complete a Proxy Form for the group to choose your housing assignment during Room Sign-Up.
    • Make sure to sign the housing contract (which will be sent to you via email) and send it to the Housing and Residential Life Office via fax or mail by March 13, 2009. If it's not received by this date, you will lose your space.

    Spring 2010 (not Fall 2009):

If you will be studying abroad in Fall 2009 but would like to return to campus housing in Spring 2010:
    • Complete and turn in your Housing Intent Form and check the box next to I DO intend to live on campus next year.
    • On the Intent Form, fill out your name, student ID, and email address. Then do NOT complete the rest of the form.
    • In the open space on the Intent Form, write that you want to live on campus in Spring 2010 but that you will be studying abroad in Fall 2009.
    • In addition to turning in the Intent Form, email Kelly Malone at maloneke@webster.edu to let her know that you would like her to hold on to your security deposit and that you plan to live on campus again in Spring 2010 but not in Fall 2009.
    • You will not go through the Room Sign-Up process.
    • You will be contacted in November 2009 with your housing assignment for spring 2010. Once you receive a housing assignment, if you change your mind and want to cancel that contract, cancellation charges will apply.
