JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Customer Service Associate
Job Responsibilities: Assist with the overall day-to-day administration and customer service functions of the Department of Housing and Residential Life. Tasks include:
- Filing, faxing, copying
- Logging incoming packages
- Processing and tracking maintenance work orders
- Professionally answering telephones and questions from residents, prospective students, and parents
- Staffing the office in the absence of professional staff.
- Attend mandatory training and monthly meetings.
- STRICT adherence to confidentiality in all matters concerning the Department of Housing and Residential Life is absolutely required.
- Work to support the goals and mission of the department concerning superior customer service, marketing, and health/safety/academic education.
- Employees are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
- Proven superior customer service abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Ability to initiate various tasks; willingness to accept responsibility; interact well with on-campus residents and staff.
- Display an enthusiastic and positive attitude about the on-campus residence halls and campus.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Must have a professional, neat appearance and a positive demeanor.
- Must be able to move furniture and equipment (with assistance).
Maintenance Assistant
Job Responsibilities: The Student Maintenance Assistant will work under the supervision of the Webster Village Apartments Maintenance Supervisor assisting as directed to maintain a student housing facility. The facility may include all or some of the following components: offices, resident rooms, laundry facilities, swimming pool, study lounges, parking areas, community room/clubhouse. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Physical work: painting, cleaning, general turnover of apartments, some furniture moving, outside landscape projects, setting space for conference guests, laundry, etc.
- Administrative work: Submitting and tracking work orders, completing room evaluations.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
- Employees are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
- Ability to initiate various tasks; willingness to accept responsibility; interact well with on-campus residents and staff.
- Display an enthusiastic and positive attitude about the on-campus residence halls and campus.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- Must have a professional appearance and a positive demeanor.
- Must be able to move furniture and equipment (with assistance).
- Attend a mandatory training in August or January, this will constitute returning before classes begin. Dates will be announced once hired.
Desk Attendant
Job Responsibilities: The main responsibility of the Residential Hall Desk Attendant (DA) is to be a resource and maintain security in the halls after hours. To achieve these goals, DA’s will be asked to do the following:
- Check students and guests in at the front desks of each residence hall
- Report work orders
- Provide information about the buildings and school information
- Answer phone
- Check out packages/games/toilet paper and/or other need items
- Call the RA On Duty when necessary
- Act as a resource about University policies and procedures
- STRICT adherence to confidentiality in all matters concerning the Department of Housing and Residential Life is absolutely required
- Work to support the goals and mission of the department concerning superior customer service, marketing, and health/safety/academic education
- Employees are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
- Proven superior customer service abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Ability to initiate various tasks; willingness to accept responsibility; interact well with on-campus residents and staff.
- Display an enthusiastic and positive attitude about the on-campus residence halls and campus.
