Job Responsibilities: The person in this position coordinates all research, marketing, and programming related to sustainability efforts for Housing and Residential Life. This position reports to the Student Coordinator of Special Projects in Housing and Residential Life. Tasks include:
• Research opportunities for Housing and Residential Life to incorporate sustainable practices through large and small-scale efforts
• Communicate and coordinate with student organizations that are focused on green efforts
• Serve on the Webster University Sustainability Coalition
• Work with Campus Activities and other students/organizations to plan Environment Week activities
• Develop, promote, and implement programs that educate residents on sustainable practices
• Prepare creative and informative marketing materials to communicate methods for living “green” to campus residents
• Monitor recycling receptacles throughout the WVA and residence halls to see if there are unmet needs or requirements for additional education on recycling
• Must attend staff training in August and January, in addition to required biweekly meetings with the Student Coordinator of Special Projects.
• Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: We are looking for individuals to join the Department of Housing and Residential Life team. Qualified applicants should display the following skills and attributes:
• Employees are required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
• Knowledge of sustainable practices.
• Highly enthusiastic about sustainability.
• Proven superior customer service abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Ability to initiate various tasks; willingness to accept responsibility; interact well with on-campus residents and staff.
• Display an enthusiastic and positive attitude about the on-campus residence halls and campus.
• Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have a professional, neat appearance and a positive demeanor.
