What is a Resident Assistant?

The Resident Assistant (RA) supplements and complements the process of formal education by enhancing the quality of life in the residential community. The RA provides leadership for all residents and assists in planning of educational and social activities that make the group living experience support student learning & retention. The RAs are vital members of our team and are our front lines for communication and development of our residential students.

Where do I apply?

You must attend one of our informational sessions to receive an application packet.

These sessions are taking place:

  • Tuesday, October 30, 2018: 9:30pm, Location To Be Determined
  • Wednesday, January 16, 2019: 4:30pm, West Hall Classroom
  • Tuesday, January 22, 2019: 7:00pm, West Hall Classroom

If you cannot attend an RA Info Session, you must schedule a meeting with Keirsten Tully, Community Director for Apartments, to go over the information. You can set up a meeting by calling Keirsten at 314-246-4663 or emailing her at keirstenschad78@webster.edu

What is the timeline?

EARLY PROCESS -- If you will be studying abroad in the Spring 2019 semester OR have other commitments during the Regular Process but want to be considered for an RA position OR you KNOW that you are interested in being an RA for the 19 - 20 academic year, you must go through the Early Process:

  • Friday, November 16, 2018: Early Process Applications Due by Noon.
  • Tuesday, November 27 and Wednesday, November 28, 2018: Early Process Individual Interviews
  • Friday, November 30, 2018: Early Group Process from 2:00pm - 5:00pm (if necessary)

REGULAR PROCESS -- This is the normal timeline for all students interested in a position for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. 

  • Friday, February 1, 2019: Completed Applications Due by Noon.
  • Wednesday, February 13, 2019: RA Candidate Mix & Mingle Event (Not Required) at 4:30pm in the West Hall Multipurpose Room
  • Friday, February 15, 2019: Group Process Interviews, Times and Location will be Assigned During the Interview Process
  • February 18 - February 21, 2019: Individual Interviews, Library (Room TBD)
  • Tuesday, February 26, 2019: Hiring Notifications Sent Electronically to Candidates
