RA Selection

What is a Resident Assistant?

The Resident Assistant (RA) supplements and complements the process of formal education by enhancing the quality of life in the residential community. The RA provides leadership for all residents and assists in planning of educational and social activities that make the group living experience support student learning & retention. The RAs are vital members of our team and are our front lines for communication and development of our residential students.

Where do I apply?

You must attend one of our informational sessions to receive an application packet.

These sessions are taking place:

  • Tuesday, October 29, 2019: 9:30pm, Sunnen Lounge in the University Center
  • Wednesday, January 15, 2020: 4:30pm, West Hall Classroom
  • Tuesday, January 21, 2020: 7:00pm, West Hall Classroom

If you cannot attend an RA Info Session, you must schedule a meeting with Keirsten Tully, Community Director for Apartments, to go over the information. You can set up a meeting by calling Keirsten at 314-246-4663 or emailing her at keirstenschad78@webster.edu

What is the timeline?

EARLY PROCESS -- If you will be studying abroad in the Spring 2020 semester OR have other commitments during the Regular Process but want to be considered for an RA position OR you KNOW that you are interested in being an RA for the 20 - 21 academic year, you must go through the Early Process:

  • Thursday, December 5th, 2019: Early Process Applications Due by Noon.
  • Monday, December 9th - Wednesday, December 11th, 2019: Early Process Individual Interviews
  • Friday, December 13th, 2019: Early Group Process from 2:00pm - 5:00pm

REGULAR PROCESS -- This is the normal timeline for all students interested in a position for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. 

  • Thursday, January 30th, 2020: Completed Applications Due by Noon.
  • Friday, February 14th, 2020: Group Process Interviews, Times and Location will be Assigned During the Interview Process
  • February 17th - February 20th, 2020: Individual Interviews, (Time and Location will be Assigned)
  • Tuesday, February 25th, 2020: Hiring Notifications Sent Electronically to Candidates
