COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD
2007-2008

The IRB is comprised of five faculty members appointed by the Faculty Senate and three administrative representatives (non-voting members) appointed by the Executive Vice President, Dean of Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs Office.  External members of the committee are appointed by the Chair of the IRB upon the vote of the committee.  The committee has two physicians (for medical reviews) and one member from outside the University community.

Faculty members are appointed by the Senate. At least one faculty member is to be selected from each of the Webster University Colleges and Schools. Faculty members are appointed to serve 2 years. Due to the sensitive nature of the committee, it is strongly recommended that the Chair of the IRB have status at Webster University. Terms end on May 31st of each respective year. The board meets throughout the Fall and Spring semester on an as needed basis. Summer meetings are infrequent.

Questions regarding IRB rules and regulations should be directed to the Chair. All applications should be sent to the Expediter. The proposal will be logged and sent to the appropriate reviewer (often the board member representing that particular school/college).
