Kansas City Commencement
Commencement 2016 Ceremony
The 41st Annual Commencement honoring all 2015-2016 graduates from August, October and December 2015 and March and May 2016 will be held Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at the Yardley Hall at Johnson County Community College.

Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and will last approximately 75 minutes. A reception will follow in the lobby.
Graduates should arrive at the check-in station by 1:30 p.m. The check-in station
will open at 12:30 p.m.
Attendees should allow plenty of time (10-15 minutes) to park and walk to Yardley Hall.
Guests of the graduates may take their seats in the main theater upon arrival.
The procession of graduates will begin promptly at 2 p.m.
The graduates will process in with their individual school or college.
Guests of the graduates should be seated by 1:55 p.m. as the aisles must be clear for the Academic Procession. Guests will be asked to wait to enter during the procession.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, we ask that guests remain seated while the graduates proceed out to the lobby.
Diplomas will be mailed out 10-12 weeks after the student has completed the last class of their degree.
Tickets will not be required for the Commencement ceremony. We do ask graduates to limit their guests to ten. If you wish to invite more, contact Megan for assistance.

Steps to Graduation
1. Submit a Petition to Graduate
All students completing all degree requirements in May 2016 must fill out a Petition to Graduate.
Petitions are DUE MONDAY, APRIL 4, 2016. See your advisor for questions. Any student submitting a late petition may not have their name listed in the program.

2. Clear Business Office Accounts
Students who have completed all of their academic requirements to graduate must clear their Student Business Office account balance prior to diploma and transcript release. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.75% convenience fee. Check payments have a holding period of 10 days before release of transcripts. 3. Complete RSVP Card

For Extended Campus Graduates Wanting to Participate in the St. Louis Commencement
Notify your campus director by February 22, 2016 to submit your name on the Commencement Participation Form if you intend to participate in the St. Louis Commencement ceremony.
4. Purchase Your Cap and Gown
How to Wear Your Academic Regalia [ Video ]
Herff-Jones will be providing academic regalia for the Kansas City commencement ceremony. Invitations, class rings, and diploma frames are also available.
To place an order go online to Herff Jones. Enter Webster University in the search field and then select Kansas City.
Orders received after April 1, 2016 may be subject to a $50.00 late fee, plus rush shipping charge.

5. Share the Map of the Commencement Ceremony
Distribute copies of the map to the commencement ceremony to friends and family with your Commencement announcements. These maps contain all the information you and your guests will need to navigate your way through Commencement day.
Parking will be available in two parking garages near the main entrance to the Carlsen Center.
Wheelchair access and seating information is available upon request.
