“Serving Kansas City-area teachers since 1966”

Nearly 4,000 teachers have earned the Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Webster University’s Kansas City campus. Enhance your teaching through this 33-credit-hour program in multidisciplinary studies designed expressly for the busy professional. Classes are offered in four, eight-week evening sessions during the school year with a fifth session during the summer. You may begin with any session and students typically complete the degree in two years or less.

The MAT curriculum balances theory and practice to help you develop the vision to shape professional change while expanding your knowledge and skills to help students learn. Webster instructors are successful current or former K-12 educators with a wealth of experience in the day-to-day realities of schooling. Small classes allow instruction to be tailored to your current teaching assignment and advisors provide personal attention to your program of study.

Benefits:

• Develop and refine your teaching skills and content mastery

• Enhance your professional leadership potential

• Improve your classroom management

• Classes meet one evening each week with day and evening classes in summer

• Award-winning instructors

• Increase your earning power and meet professional development and renewal requirements

• Federal Stafford Loans available

• Online courses available

Our students say it best!

More than 98 percent of MAT students report that they selected Webster because of the recommendation of a colleague.  Many graduates have received area, state, and national recognitions for teaching excellence.

“I appreciate the realistic, practical knowledge I’ve acquired and the personal attention I received.  These are compelling reasons to study and grow at Webster University.”

Damon Roberts, Kansas Teacher of the Year Finalist
