ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

M.A. and M.B.A. Degree Completion Admission Requirements

Applicants considered for admission to Webster University's graduate programs must have earned a recognized baccalaureate degree from an educational institution accredited by one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. Students who have completed their University education abroad must have earned an equivalent recognized baccalaureate degree as determined by Webster University. Each applicant must submit an official final transcript from the degree-granting institution in order to complete the application file. Applicants for a sequential master of arts (M.A.) or a sequential masters of business administration (M.B.A.) must submit both undergraduate and graduate transcripts at the time of application if their degree was issued from an institution other than Webster University. Issued-to-students copies are not acceptable.

APPLICATION (All Programs)

Prospective Students can apply online or Application forms are available during the initial advising session with an academic advisor or the local director. It should be noted that non-degree students are not eligible for veteran's educational benefits.

The application fee for the degree-seeking student must be attached to the completed application form or the application form will not be processed. The purpose of the application fee is to initiate the student's admission file, complete the admission file, and establish it as an official student file in the Office of the Registrar.

A student who registers for a course as a non-degree student must complete a non-degree application form and pay the application fee. The student should consult the Non-degree Study section under Enrollment in the Graduate Studies Catalog for additional information.

Graduates of Webster University are exempt from the application fee.

A student who is classified as a permanent resident of the United States and holds a Resident Alien Card must submit a copy of both sides of the card with the completed application form. International students, depending on visa status, may have to apply through Webster St. Louis.

ACCEPTANCE

A student who has applied and whose official transcript has not been received will be provisionally accepted to the graduate program. An official transcript from the institution awarding the baccalaureate degree must be received in the Office of Graduate Admission by the conclusion of the first term. Transcripts issued to students are not considered official transcripts for admission purposes. On receipt of the official transcript from the institution awarding the baccalaureate degree, the student will receive full acceptance to the graduate program.

ADVANCEMENT TO CANDIDACY (M.A./M.B.A.)

A student who has been fully accepted and who has completed 12 semester hours of Webster University course work with grades of B- or above will be advanced to candidacy.
