The goal of the human resources management major is to prepare human resource professionals to deal with the complexities and challenges of managing today's workforce. The program content is designed to provide a comprehensive coverage of the major human resource responsibilities, addressing strategic and operational aspects. The courses involve both practical and theoretical considerations in the professional development of men and women in the field of human resources in such settings as business, industry, government, and nonprofit organizations and institutions.

Webster's M.A. in human resources development focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to work with people in various employment settings. Courses draw upon the theories of the social and behavioral sciences and management to help you understand the human relations issues confronting both individuals and organizations.

The program combines human relations training and development with organization development training, allowing you to investigate all aspects of human resources utilization and development. Coursework focuses on maximizing the importance of the human element in organizational structures.

The degree is available online. Online courses require excellent organizational skills, self-direction and motivation to master the challenges of the environment.
