You Don’t Need a Title to be a Leader –

This first class in the series serves as a basis for Destination Leadership because it provides insights into how each of us can be a leader in our daily lives and make a positive difference, whatever our title or position. Participants will understand that genuine leadership is not conferred by a title or limited to the executive suite. Rather, it is shown through our everyday actions and the way we influence the lives of those around us.

Leadership focuses on getting others to do what they would not do on their own. Exemplary leadership encompasses much, much more. The focus will be on exploring the attributes of great leaders and then teaching the participants how to acquire them and grow from good to great.

The Foundations of Mentoring –

Everyone can improve through a mentoring relationship – both as a mentee and as a mentor. Everyone also has valuable insights and experience that can and should be shared with others as a mentor. Mentoring motivates and inspires people to take action and get involved. Participants will see mentoring as a valuable activity; have a clear framework for action and the tools for immediate implementation either formally or informally. This is a powerful step toward building a learning, teaching and sharing mindset, and positive culture.

Formative Feedback: How to Give & Get Performance Feedback –

Interpersonal Effectiveness for Leaders: How to Get the Essential “People Skills” you Need to get Phenomenal Leadership Results!
Your “people skills” absolutely make or break your success as a leader. Research on leadership continually confirms an employee’s direct manager has a greater impact on job satisfaction than anything else. In fact, in a study of 20,000 exit interviews, most employees didn’t leave their jobs because of low pay, lack of advancement or lousy benefits, but because of their boss. Your effectiveness as a leader hinges on the strength of your interpersonal skills, your ability to build solid working relationships with others and your ability to communicate well with them. This session will help participants maximize their leadership potential, improve their results, and become the kind of Leader others are eager to follow.
