Directing

Directors are storytellers. They bring the words of the playwright to life through the inventiveness of the actor in the world of the designer. As young directors begin their journey, it's important that they learn the craft of directing and also gain insight into the stories being told.

Directing majors at Webster are exposed to a variety of coursework including classes in voice, acting, history, stage management and scenic design. In the fourth year of study, students spend the a semester at Webster's London campus and direct a capstone project in their final semester.
