Welcome to Webster's Memphis Naval Support Activity (NSA) Site. The Memphis NSA Campus is located in Millington, Tenn., about 20 miles north Memphis and seven miles east of the Mississippi River. Millington is known as "Flag City," Tenn. This is one city that works well with its military personnel and is proud to show its pride in family and patriotism.
Memphis NSA was first commissioned as a Naval Reserve Air Base (NRAB) in September 15, 1942. Its primary mission was to train aviation pilots for action in World War II (WWII). After WWII the NRAB was officially designated as a Naval Air Station. Memphis NSA was officially established October 1, 1995 as a result of the 1993 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.
Today over 1,100 enlisted and officer personnel, civilians, and contract personnel provide support services and essential logistic services. Memphis NSA is one of the largest single businesses in the state of Tennessee and provides jobs for several neighboring cities.
Webster University is authorized for operation as a post-secondary educational institution by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
