Background
Webster University and the Department of Defense have worked together for nearly 30 years to provide high
quality and cost-effective graduate programs at military installations and other locations throughout the country. This partnership is a model that delivers quality education opportunities to thousands of DoD and military personnel who want to enhance their careers, to learn new skills and to increase their personal and professional effectiveness.
One important way of doing this is to create cooperative degree programs between Webster University and military or DoD schools that allow students to maximize transfer credit These cooperative masters' programs are characterized by shared credit between Webster and certain DoD schools. Notably, only those DoD schools that have a curriculum that is comparable and similar in quality and content to a related Webster University masters degree are considered and approved as cooperative programs.
Purpose
The purpose of a cooperative masters degree programs is to award Webster University graduate credit to the graduates of eligible professional military and DoD education programs that deliver graduate-level education that is comparable in its educational quality and content related to a Webster University masters degree.
Eligibility
Students can pursue their professional military education and a related Webster University masters degree concurrently at certain Webster University campuses where these programs are available. Eligible students can choose to participate in a cooperative degree at any Webster University campus offering the approved degree program.
Webster University cooperative degree programs are developed in accordance with the American Council on Education's Joint Statement on the Transfer and Award of Credit, which contains transfer credit guidelines approved by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO)
