Graduate Programs Offered in Rolla

The master of arts program begins with the conviction that professional people require an educational program with built-in flexibility to meet individual needs. This degree program enables the individual to attain competence in a specific area of concentration and to incorporate academic studies from other areas in the social and behavioral sciences.

The Master of Business Administration is a 48-semester-hour program that is structured for students seeking a quantitative orientation in their advanced degree. A 36-semester-hour M.B.A. is designed for students with a B.A. or B.S. in certain majors who wish to pursue an M.B.A. without an area of concentration. The Master of Arts requires 36 semester hours with a qualitative orientation. The M.A. can be completed in approximately 15 months. The following areas of concentration provide students with the knowledge to leverage their careers in a competitive business environment:

Master of Business Administration
Master of Arts

Faculty and Curriculum

Webster University faculty brings both academic and professional qualifications to the classroom. Faculty members are academically qualified to teach at the graduate level, and they work in the profession in which they teach. This enables them to blend academic theories with real-life experiences in the business world. Small classes and individualized attention permit the extra measure that marks a quality educational experience. The challenging, rigorous curriculum is standard for Webster University. Students are assigned projects involving real-world situations. The textbook provides the theory, and the business world provides actual case studies.

Admission

The student must have earned a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by one of the regional accrediting agencies to apply for admission to the Webster University graduate degree programs. We place the responsibility on the student to demonstrate the ability to do graduate-level work. All students must maintain a B or better average to remain in the program. An official transcript is to be submitted to the Office of Graduate Admission, where it is reviewed and a decision made regarding admission.

Application forms are available during an orientation conference with an academic advisor or the program director. A non-refundable application fee, which will initiate the admission file, must be attached to the completed application form.

Prior to registration, the student meets with an academic advisor to plan a schedule of course work in a graduate-degree program. A full-time course load is 6 semester hours per term.

Registration periods are established for each program location. Students should register at the earliest opportunity because class sizes are limited. The student must complete, sign, and submit a registration form prior to attending a graduate class.

Prospective students should contact the program director for information regarding tuition and fees. Veterans Administration educational benefits, tuition assistance, deferred payments, MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and personal checks are acceptable methods of payment.
