Julie Tabash Kelsheimer

Julie Tabash KelsheimerSoprano Julie Tabash Kelsheimer spends much of her professional career performing in operatic, musical theatre, and concert venues in St. Louis and throughout the Midwest. In 2017, Julie played the role of Gretel in the opera Hänsel und Gretel at St. Louis’ own Union Avenue Opera. Additionally, she recently joined the Pine Mountain Music Festival in Michigan as the role of Bettina in the new dramatic production The Beethoven Project, and as a soprano soloist in a series of opera scenes performances.

In recent seasons, Julie has performed with Central City Opera, The Florentine Opera Company, Pine Mountain Music Festival, and Skylight Music Theatre. Recent operatic and musical theatre roles include Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), The Plaintiff (Trial by Jury) Rosasharn (The Grapes of Wrath), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring), Annina (La Traviata), Papagena (The Magic Flute), Despina (Cosí fan tutte), Liesl (The Sound of Music), and Ann Egerman (A Little Night Music). Recent non-operatic roles include soprano soloist in works by Bach, Buxtehude, Mozart, and Jerusalem, as well as several musical theatre reviews. In 2016, Julie was the first place award recipient at the Southern Illinois Young Artist Organization Competition, and in 2014 she received the Central City Opera Iris Henwood Richards Award. 

In addition being a performer, Julie is an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Webster University and St. Louis University. Julie is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists as well as the Actors’ Equity Association, and holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Northwestern University.
