Webster University Honors Corporate Partners
More than 30 business leaders recognized
ST. LOUIS - More than 30 executives and CEOs will be honored by Webster University during the President's Luncheon on Oct. 15. The event will be held from 12-1 p.m. at the East Academic Building, rooms 253/262, at 545 Garden Ave. in Webster Groves, Mo.
The business leaders all represent companies that have partnered with Webster University through its corporate partnership program to provide educational opportunities to their employees.
“Corporate partnerships are an essential activity for the university in times that demand our collective talent, skill and capacity across institutional boundaries in collaboration with business and industry,” Webster University President Beth Stroble said. “These relationships improve the quality of the educational opportunities for our students and strengthen our ties to our communities. As our relationships with Webster's corporate partners evolve, we seek additional opportunities to add value for our partners and the university.”
“The corporate partnership program has the potential for tremendous mutual benefit for Webster University and for our partners,” said Julian Schuster, provost, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Webster University. “Our partners are gaining employees with global competencies and advanced degrees, while the university will benefit not just from the diversity of industries and viewpoints represented, but by our partners' active engagement with the university in the form of internship support, guest speaker opportunities, and other activities.”
The President's Luncheon marks the first time the university has formally honored its corporate partners for their support in providing valuable learning and higher education opportunities to working professionals. More than three dozen business and non-profit organizations have entered into corporate partnership programs with Webster University since the Office of Corporate Partnerships was established in 2010.
“We appreciate the support we've received from our corporate partners and we're excited to continue working together to create and deliver programs that enhance the partnerships,” said Benjamin Akande, chief corporate partnerships officer and dean of the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology.
