Women's Soccer in NCAA Tournament Lineup

This is the 10th time the Gorlok Women’s Soccer team has appeared in the NCAA D III national tournament.

The Women's Soccer Team after the SLIAC championshipST. LOUIS - The Women’s soccer team will face off against Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill this Friday for the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

This is the 10th time the Gorlok Women’s Soccer team has appeared in the NCAA D III national tournament, and this year is their second consecutive appearance. The soccer team has captured six SLIAC tournament championships, all of which have come in the last nine years.
 
Webster’s Women’s Soccer Team has tallied 89 goals this season (4.24 per game) while conceding 12 goals (0.57 per game). Entering the SLIAC tournament, the Gorloks had the sixth-highest scoring offense and the 32nd-best goals-against average nationally in NCAA Division III. They earned the NCAA berth with a 4-1 defeat of Principia College Saturday afternoon (Nov. 9).
 
Webster's .905 won-loss-tied percentage is one of the top-10 percentages in Division III this season and the second-highest percentage in program history, behind only the 2001 team that went 18-1-1 (.925 won-loss-tied percentage). The Gorloks (19-2 overall, 9-0 SLIAC) set a program record for wins in a season, as they surpassed the 18-win '01 squad.

In related news, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced the members of the 2013 Fall All-Academic team. A total of 155 student-athletes were named to the team, including 21 from Webster University, which consists of members from cross country, soccer and volleyball teams.

In order to earn All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution.
