    Biography
    Jim Brasfield is Professor of Management and Health Management at Webster University. He joined the Webster faculty in 1976 after eight years of teaching at Gannon College in Erie Pennsylvania. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Case Western Reserve University (1973), and a MA in Political Science from St. Louis University (1967). He is Director of the Health Services Management program. His areas of academic interest are health policy and local government management, and he has written several conference papers on local government organization and finance in St. Louis County. He served as Mayor of the City of Crestwood from 1996 to 2002, and was on the Crestwood Board of Aldermen for eighteen years prior to his election as Mayor. He has served on various community boards including President of the St. Louis County Municipal League and President of the Board of Directors of the Greater St. Louis Health Systems Agency. Brasfield currently serves as the President of the Organized Section on Health Politics and Policy of the American Political Science Association and Book Review Editor for the Journal of Health Politics Policy and Law.
