The chief economist of the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association in 2005 conducted an independent economic impact survey of Webster University. The results are as follows:

•  $107.7M is the total economic impact (direct,indirect and induced) of Webster University operations,   
    Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and student spending on
    Webster Groves.      (Source: St. Louis RCGA, 2005)
•  Webster University is the largest employer in Webster Groves.
•  The Webster Groves City Employee Scholarship Fund has provided University tuition for 19 city      
    employees since 1999.
•  Webster University provides $11,000 in scholarship funds to Webster Groves High School students
    annually.
•  Webster University is a sponsor of the following community activities:    
    -  Old Webster Jazz Festival    
    -  Webster Groves Community Days    
    -  Art and Air Festival    
    -  Webster Groves/Shrewsbury Area Chamber of Commerce     
    -  Webster Groves Historical Society    
    -  Make a Difference Day
•  Webster University pays more than $84,699 in utility taxes to Webster Groves annually.
•  The Webster University residential population of 704 students brings more than $148,455 in sales and  
     other tax revenue to Webster Groves.
