“Rob Block and Friends,” a Concert of Original Jazz Compositions at Webster

What/Who:
“Rob Block and Friends,” a program of original jazz works by Rob Block. The concert features members of the Webster jazz faculty and special Brazilian guest artists.

Block’s original jazz compositions were influenced by the music of Charlie Mingus, Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk.

Rob Block is an adjunct professor teaching jazz composition at Webster, and a well known performing artist who appears locally with the Willie Akins Quartet, the Eddie Fritz Trio and the Dave Venn Trio. He was awarded the “best St. Louis jazz artist” by the Riverfront Times in 1998.
