Webster University presents the 2nd Webster Spring Wind Spectacular Concert featuring the Webster University Wind Ensemble and the Webster University Chamber Winds.
Webster University Wind Ensemble
Members of the Webster University Wind Ensembles wind and brass sections, under the direction of James A. Martin, perform music for various combinations of trumpets, horn, saxophones, trombones and euphonium. The selections span a time period from the 16th century Renaissance to the present, and allow the members to be heard in a more intimate chamber music setting. The program includes: Three Equali, by Beethoven; Three Madrigals by Gabrieli, Weelkes and Wilbye; Three Motets, by Brahms and Canzonetta La Hooplina, (the Girl from Hoople) by P.D. Q. Bach
Webster Chamber Winds:
The Chamber Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Jan Gippo, will perform: Kleine Kammermusik fur funf Blaser, by Paul Hindemith, Dialogo Angelico by Goffredo Petrassi, Deux Poemes de ronsard, by Albert Roussel and Trois Pieces Breve, by Jacques Ibert.
The Chamber Wind Ensemble features Theodore Giatras, Kristi Frioux, Jennifer Odell, Jennifer Toro, flute; Tracy Smith, oboe; Scott Splater, clarinet; Rebecca Dammers, horn; and Daniel Shavers and Heather Truitt, bassoon.
