The Webster University Chamber Orchestra Presents a Diverse Program of Elegant Music

What/Who:

The Webster University Chamber Orchestra concludes its season with a performance of significant symphonic repertoire. The ensemble is comprised completely of Webster University students. Artistic Director and Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra is Dr. Paul G. Davis. Guest conductors for this concert include Webster University Graduate Students Paula Bernhardt, Ben Middleton and Ron Robinson.

The repertoire for the evenning includes a diverse program, opening with vivacious music of the celebrated French composer Jacques Offenbach, followed by a set of “Contradances” by Ludwig von Beethoven. The concert concludes with two contemporary works, Robert Spittal’s “Consort for Ten Winds” and Ney Rosauro’s “Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra.” The Rosauro is recognized as one of the premier works for Marimba, and is characterized by Brasilian and mixed-meter rhythmic motives. Featured on the work is Webster University student Colton Lytle.

Now completing its first year of existence, the Chamber Orchestra has quickly become an inspired and spirited performing ensemble. The concert promises to be an exciting experience of elegant music.
