Webster University Names Trevor Barker Director of New Global MBA Program

Trevor Barker has been named director of the new Global MBA program in Webster University’s School of Business and Technology. Unveiled in January, this highly selective 11-month, full-time program is the first truly global MBA, with nine-week terms at five international Webster campus locations – Leiden, the Netherlands; Geneva, Switzerland; Vienna, Austria; London, UK; and Shanghai, China.

Most recently, Barker served in dual roles as a visiting faculty member at Regent’s College in London, and project manager for Pasmar Associates, an international consulting firm. From 1996 to 2000, he was communications director of the MBA program at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees in Paris. Barker also has served as a lecturer in the Department of International Studies at the University of Surrey and has held key marketing positions in the food and beverage industry in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in art history from the London Institute, and a master’s degree in European studies from the University of Surrey.

“Trevor Barker has in-depth knowledge of and expertise in the international arena,” said Benjamin Akande, dean of Webster’s School of Business and Technology. “He brings to this position the talents we believe are paramount to ensure the success of Webster’s Global MBA.”

Webster’s new Global MBA is the only one of its kind in which students spend the entire academic program in an international environment, fully immersed in the history, culture and business practices of these countries.
