Show Us How You Celebrate the Holidays in Your Part of the World; Help Trim Webster’s First Global Holiday Tree
Around the world, people mark holidays with special traditions and festivities. With everything from Christmas and Hanukkah, to Kwanzaa and the Japanese New Year’s celebration of Oshogatsu, few months present the opportunity for multicultural awareness, respect and understanding that December does.
To celebrate the rich diversity of Webster’s worldwide network, a uniquely decorated “Global Holiday Tree” will be on display in the University Center throughout the month of December. Photos of the tree will be posted on the university’s Web site.
Webster President Dr. Beth Stroble invites students, faculty, staff and alumni from every Webster campus to help trim the tree and share their holiday traditions by sending an ornament, photo or other small item that tells their holiday story. Items will not be returned so we may continue the tradition every year. Send items to Nancy Higgins, Webster University, 40 North Rock Hill Road, St. Louis, MO 63119.
A tree-trimming party will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center Commons.
With its home campus in St. Louis, Webster University (www.webster.edu) is a worldwide institution committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences that transform students for global citizenship and individual excellence.
