    Old Webster Jazz & Blues Festival Salutes Johnnie Johnson "Celebrate. Educate. Commemorate."

    Webster-Kirkwood Times Presents the 7th Annual Old Webster Jazz & Blues Festival. The Festival, with an all-star roster of musicians, has established itself as one of the most memorable events on the first-rate fall festival circuit. A "Tribute to Johnnie Johnson" featuring the Johnnie Johnson Band with Kim Massie, will headline the family-oriented festival. The friendly streets of Gore and Allen are the sites of ten different shows nestled among historic buildings that house modern day specialty shops.

    A free JAZZ IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP is available for regional students and amateur musicians of all ages. Co-Sponsored by Webster University, the workshop is hosted by world-class faculty and performing musicians. From 10-11a.m. you can learn from Webster University faculty members such as Paul DeMarinis (saxophone), Steve Schenkel (guitar), and more. All workshops take place in the Winifred Moore Auditorium at 470 East Lockwood Hall in Webster Hall on the campus of Webster University. Each participant receives a free gift bag from area retailers (MAXJAZZ, Mel Bay Records, Webster Records, Euclid Records, Switzer's Licorice).
