    Robert Schumann Celebration at Webster University

    What/Who:

    To celebrate Romantic-era composer Robert Schumann's 200th birthday anniversary, Webster faculty members will perform representative piano and vocal works.

    Donna Vince plays the first movement of Schumann's Fantasy in C Major, Op. 17. Noel Prince sings Schumann's classic art song Widmung, a powerful love song, after which pianist Daniel Schene plays Franz Liszt's virtuoso transcription of Widmung. 

    The hour-long performance is one of two this year celebrating major composer anniversaries.  Frederic Chopin's 200th birthday will be celebrated in recital on Sunday, April 18.

    When:           

    Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, 4 p.m.

    Where:            

    Winifred Moore Auditorium, Webster University

    470 E. Lockwood Ave.

    Cost:                       

    $5 general admission, $3 senior adults, free to students with valid I.D.
