“The Spitfire Grill” depicts the journey of Percy Talbott, a recently released inmate from prison who decides to start her life anew in the waning, rural town of Gilead, Wisconsin. Percy soon finds a room and work with Hannah, the indomitable owner of the town café, the Spitfire Grill where she develops a strong connection with Hannah and her niece-in-law, Shelby. As the skeptical citizens of Gilead begin to speculate about her background and her criminal past, Percy precipitates a journey with the town itself toward its own tenuous renewal.

Based on the 1996 film by Lee David Zlotoff, the author’s have re-shaped the story into a warm, character-driven musical.

“The Spitfire Grill” is directed by Bill Lynch, professor of voice and speech at Webster’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts.
