I’m Doug Hill, the exceptionally proud Chairman of Webster University’s Board of Trustees. Today I welcome all of you.  Students…faculty members…staff members, extended site directors…advisory board members from the University’s Schools and Colleges…fellow members of the Board of Trustees… and our distinguished guests who believe so profoundly in the past, present and future of this great University.  From our humble yet pioneering beginnings in 1915… to this very hour in this very year when we gather to celebrate an extraordinary and transformational moment that will be permanently engraved in Webster’s history… I am here to assure you that this University stands ready for the remarkable journey that lies ahead.

I have served on many boards for many years, but I can’t recall a gathering with such energy and excitement.  Prepare yourselves to be amazed and also prepare yourself to dream.  Webster University works for so many people and a mighty big door is about to be opened for all of us.

So now it gives me great pleasure to introduce the tenth President of Webster University… Richard Meyers.  It is fitting that Dr. Meyers is the one who tells you the good news all of us have come to celebrate…
