Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management
The Online Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management program supports the academic relationship between Webster University and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Webster's campus-based SECR degree program began in 1986 and has more than 400 graduates worldwide.
The complexities of a modern society have combined to generate a variety of threats to business organizations, information networks, military installations, government operations and individuals. The curriculum of the program is based primarily on social sciences. It includes required courses on asset protection, information security, legal and ethical issues, and emergency planning; a security overview course developed by ASIS; and at least 12 elective credits from Webster's Online program offerings. The program is designed to give maximum exposure to security management skills and to provide flexibility for the specific needs of the individual student. This program also helps prepare students for the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Certified Protection Program.
Webster University is a member of the National Academic Consortium for Homeland Security (NACHS), an alliance of colleges and universities that are conducting research or offering educational programs related to homeland security and defense. Currently, the consortium includes over 200 leading universities and colleges, representing 49 states, the District of Columbia and the Territory of Guam. The primary purpose of the NACHS is to promote and support scholarship in this field and to facilitate collaboration between and among academic institutions and individual faculty members and researchers. Additional information is available at: http://homelandsecurity.osu.edu/NACHS.
