Assessments

Assignments and assessments are part of the learning environment and are used as a means of evaluating educational goals and objectives. Each instructor will assess students in a different manner. Each assignment and assessment will have a due date. It is important to stay abreast of assignment and assessment details and deadlines as this can affect your overall performance in the course. After you have submitted an assignment or assessment, you will receive a grade for your submission along with instructor feedback.

Assignments

Assignments in your course can be assigned to individuals or to groups depending on your instructor. The two types of assignments that can be submitted in WorldClassRoom will either be in the form of a paper or a web site. However, specific details on your assignments are created by the instructor and may vary.

Assessments

Assessments in WorldClassRoom are similar to tests and quizzes, may be timed, and can include: Short Answer, Paragraph, Calculated Questions, Matching, and True/False questions. Additionally, you may be asked to take a survey or a self test. If and when these options are available, your instructor will provide additional details. Be certain to read your directions carefully before beginning the assessment.

Grades

You can check your grades in the Assignments, Assessments, and My Grades tools once they are released by your instructor.

Tips for Success

• Online assessments are completed in a timed environment. Be certain to read your directions carefully before beginning the assessment.
• Attaching files in the Assignments or discussions area can be problematic at times. Ensure that you are using the correct version of Java for success in this area. If you hae trouble attaching files as you submit an assignment, you may need to update your browser. Contact the Help Desk.
• Make sure that the document you have attached is the correct version of the assignment.
• Do not forget to click on the submit button at the bottom of the assignments page. The submission of your assignment is not complete until you do this.
